About the Role
State Street Alpha Data Services (ADS) is seeking a Data Solutions Architect to support pre-sales due diligence and implementation, acting as the primary client interface for the Alpha journey and adoption. This role is crucial for integrating clients into the Alpha platform and ensuring successful data management solutions.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary client contact for the ADS organization, guiding clients through the Alpha adoption journey.
- Provide thought leadership during due diligence and implementation by understanding Alpha architecture and client needs.
- Manage end-to-end solutioning for Alpha Data Platform (ADP)/ADS solutions, including pre-contract due diligence, client presentations, and documentation of target data solutions.
- Oversee solution design, environment setup, custom component development, go-live activities, and post-go-live support.
- Manage data solutioning and shared ownership of client implementations.
- Collaborate with internal State Street application and system owners for ADP integration.
- Design and execute process engineering for data solutions, encompassing data flows from multiple sources to client consumption layers.
- Identify ADP product and data service gaps and partner with Product and Service Practice managers to propose solutions.
- Partner with broader State Street Application/Service Owners to provide solutions for new client requirements or bespoke data solutions.
- Support the defect resolution process by collaborating with the development team to understand root causes and ensure fixes.
- Collaborate with internal technical and business teams, including GTS, SaaS Ops, Alpha Cloud Ops, Alpha Platform Engineering, Alpha Product, ADS Implementation, Alpha Data Ops, and clients to resolve issues.
- Align on Alpha implementation activities with Client Implementation Executives and Leads.
- Contribute to standard operating procedures and ensure adoption, including custom bespoke processes.
- Engage with L2/L4 Support teams to ensure proper coverage.
- Collaborate with external vendors such as Bloomberg, Refinitive, MSCI, Factset, and Axioma as needed for client implementations.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science, data management, or another financial services technical field.
- 15+ years in data management, data architecture, product, and market data roles and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills across all channels and levels, including C-suite.
- Experienced hands-on ETL, Snowflake, CI/CD Pipelines, SQL, Data Quality rules, and Data-Readiness design and implementation of data platforms.
- Experience in designing and implementing relational data models for various data sets, including audit, time series, complex relationships, and high-volume data.
- Experience and understanding of system performance and profiling techniques for complex data models.
- Extensive experience with Financial Services data domains (Security Master, Entity Master, Benchmarks, Positions, Transactions, Cash, Performance, Analytics, ESG, etc.).
- Knowledge of Data Management, Data Governance, Service Catalogue, Data Lineage tools, Operational Dashboards, and Process Monitoring tools.
- Knowledge about internal and external integrations, triaging issues, and implementing/recommending solutions for data problems and anomalies.
