About the Role
Mount Thor is seeking a deeply technical Developer Relations Lead to empower engineers building on our macOS and Apple Silicon compute platform. This role involves significant hands-on coding, operating workloads, debugging, and performance measurement to improve the developer experience.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain example applications, tools, integrations, and reference implementations.
- Operate computer-use models, long-running agents, and demanding applications across macOS and Apple Silicon systems.
- Own technical documentation for the developer journey, including quickstarts, platform guides, and troubleshooting.
- Produce reproducible benchmarks and technical deep dives on hardware, configurations, and performance.
- Collaborate directly with developers during onboarding and technical investigations.
- Build integrations with agent frameworks, developer tools, CI systems, and AI workflows.
- Identify and debug complex issues across application code, macOS, virtualization, networking, storage, and the compute platform.
- Represent developers' needs internally, influencing product and engineering decisions.
- Teach and engage with the developer and open-source communities through code, writing, workshops, and demonstrations.
Requirements
- Experience as a software, platform, infrastructure, or developer-tools engineer on production systems.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python, Go, Rust, Swift, or a similar language.
- Deep knowledge of macOS and Apple Silicon, including processes, services, permissions, code signing, security, networking, storage, and performance.
- Experience building or operating cloud infrastructure, remote development environments, bare-metal compute, virtual machines, or distributed systems.
- Experience building tools, libraries, integrations, or example applications for other developers.
- Experience debugging problems across application, operating-system, and infrastructure boundaries.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to explain complex systems precisely.
- Experience designing reproducible tests or benchmarks and communicating results accurately.
- Public technical work, such as open-source contributions, repositories, documentation, benchmarks, or substantive technical writing.
- Experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional technical work from problem definition to shipped result.
