About the Role
Join us as an VP Audit-Global Investment Banking, where you will lead audits related to Investment Banking by working closely with colleagues across teams. This role involves reviewing financial products, preparing audit reports, and supporting ongoing audit activities. You will collaborate with others on topics such as loan portfolios, and regulatory matters. The position provides an opportunity to be part of a team that works across various areas of the business.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of audits aligned to the bank’s standards and objectives.
- Provide accurate information and recommendations.
- Comply with policies and procedures.
- Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.
- Identify operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.
- Assess internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.
- Communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.
- Identify regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.
- Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change.
- Plan resources, budgets, and policies.
- Manage and maintain policies/ processes.
- Deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
- Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.

Requirements
- Experience leading audits, finance, or investment banking with the ability to review and write audit-related reports.
- Familiarity with financial products such as loans and structured products.
- Comfortable working with teams and participating in discussions with stakeholders.
- Experience with data analytics, coding, or machine learning techniques.
- Knowledge of financial systems or exposure to larger financial organizations.
- Knowledge of Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Research businesses and products, including Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Wholesale Lending.
- Risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology skills.
