About the Role
Join a dedicated care team supporting a delightful and sociable child to reach his full potential by providing specialist care for a child with complex medical needs. Support daily living, light domestic tasks, and a range of social and sensory activities. Care will be delivered in line with an individualised care plan and includes tracheostomy care, ventilation support, PEG feeding for hydration, and specialist moving and handling due to spinal instability. You will be fully supported by the Advantage Healthcare London branch, with regular supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training and clinical support from a registered nurse.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist care for a child with complex medical needs
- Support daily living
- Perform light domestic tasks
- Engage in social and sensory activities, including messy and water play, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, and attending discos
- Deliver tracheostomy care
- Provide ventilation support
- Administer PEG feeding for hydration
- Assist with specialist moving and handling due to spinal instability
Requirements
- Experience working in a complex care setting
- Experience in moving and handling
- Experience in tracheostomy & PEG feed care
- Experience of looking after a ventilated child
- Experience with suctioning
- Experience with Makaton or alternative communication methods
- Must be a car driver due to the location
- Must have a full UK licence
- Must have access to your own vehicle
