About the Role
The Manager, Japan plays a key role in supporting business operations, strategy execution, and organizational effectiveness within the Japan market. This role partners with regional and global stakeholders to drive operational rigor, ensure alignment with enterprise priorities, and support growth initiatives. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a critical market while contributing to DePuy Synthes’ commitment to patients, customers, and employees.
Responsibilities
- Support execution of business strategies and operational plans for the Japan market in alignment with regional and global objectives
- Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate initiatives, priorities, and deliverables
- Analyze business performance, metrics, and trends to support decision-making and continuous improvement
- Contribute to planning, forecasting, and performance management activities
- Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and internal control requirements
- Support change initiatives, process improvements, and operational effectiveness efforts
- Prepare reports, presentations, and insights for leadership and key stakeholders
- Promote DePuy Synthes and Johnson & Johnson Credo values in all activities and interactions
- Document handling: Print, stamp/seal, mail/ship, distribute, and route documents for wet signatures.
- Records management: Store/archive/retrieve HR documents; fulfill requests; coordinate offsite storage; scan and name for Veeva.
- Compliance/admin: Upload/submit filings; print and hand-deliver to agencies; support audits and onsite audit coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field (required)
- Master’s degree or MBA (preferred)
- Typically 6-8 years of progressive experience in business management, operations, strategy, or related roles
- Experience supporting business operations or market-level initiatives in a matrixed organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into insights
- Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional and senior stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in Japan market operations or regional roles (preferred)
- Exposure to healthcare, medical device, or regulated industries (preferred)
- Experience supporting change management or transformation initiatives (preferred)
- Familiarity with performance management and reporting tools (preferred)
- Experience working with regional or global teams (preferred)
- Japanese and English proficiency required
- Up to 10–20% domestic and regional travel
- Business management, project management, or related certifications (preferred)
