About the Role
Murphy is building the AI platform that powers debt collection for leading banks, telcos, and utilities. We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Barcelona to play a key role in building and deploying Murphy in Brazil. This role involves working closely with internal teams and customers in Brazil, requiring regular travel to run discovery sessions, support deployments, solve problems, and build relationships. You will operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success, translating business needs into technical solutions and ensuring Murphy delivers measurable value.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technically robust client configurations, ensuring accuracy, proper scoping, and alignment with requirements before go-live.
- Own configuration quality end-to-end, avoiding workarounds and fragile setups.
- Optimize agent performance through structured iteration by analyzing metrics and improving communication flows.
- Act as the technical counterpart to clients, participating in meetings as the product and systems expert.
- Clearly explain architecture, constraints, trade-offs, and product capabilities, setting realistic expectations.
- Provide structured product feedback by identifying configuration vs. product gap issues and raising requests with clear context and impact.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve the platform.
- Design scalable, reusable solutions, ensuring maintainability and avoiding one-off solutions that create technical debt.
Requirements
- Native Portuguese speaker with fluent English.
- Based in Barcelona and comfortable with international travel, particularly to Brazil.
- Background in Data Science or Data Analysis.
- Strong technical foundations with the ability to write and understand production-quality code.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Deep product and systems understanding, with the ability to reason end-to-end about data flows, architecture, dependencies, and system behavior.
- Analytical and performance-driven thinking, comfortable working with KPIs, performance metrics, and iteration cycles.
- Extreme ownership of configuration quality, holding a high bar for technical correctness and long-term maintainability.
