About the Role
As Product Manager, you will own and advocate for your product line, focusing on increasing profitability of existing products and developing new ones. You will build products from existing ideas and develop new ones based on market interactions. This role requires a blend of business and technical acumen, with a focus on collaborating across departments to understand and solve customer problems.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with all areas of the company.
- Work with engineering counterparts to define product release requirements.
- Collaborate with marketing communications to define go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.
- Serve as the internal and external champion for product offerings.
- Understand and support successful product line and product family strategies.
- Develop recommendations on future product direction.
- Understand market size, growth rate, trends, and market share.
- Mentor other Product Managers and Product Specialists.
- Be a knowledgeable resource on applications, needs analysis, and product fit.
- Communicate a compelling value proposition for each product.
- Capture new opportunities and initiate development or engineering projects through justifiable business cases.
- Manage the product lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain pricing strategies while optimizing margins and ROI.
- Provide leadership and guidance to product planning, including S&OP, demand planning, inventory, and lead times.
- Recommend product manufacturing strategies in collaboration with Operations.
- Generate successful product launches in collaboration with Marketing.
- Analyze competitor product offerings, pricing, and market positioning to develop counter-selling strategies.
- Demonstrate technical aptitude and competence, articulating technical information, applications, and solution fit.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of product management experience.
- Exposure to, or experience in, the telecommunications industry is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to relate at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Tech savvy and able to read and understand product drawings.
- Ability to be continually proactive.
- Must be able to move 75 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and type.
