About the Role

The Social Media Manager will own social media strategy and execution for Poppi, leading audience growth and engagement for over 2M followers. This role combines strategic leadership with high-volume content production, leveraging cultural insight and platform expertise to maintain Poppi's position as a leader in modern soda. You will manage the end-to-end content engine, develop strategy, and oversee a direct report, making this a high-autonomy, high-impact position for a strategic operator with creative taste and strong judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Poppi's marketing pillars: creativity, cultural relevance, and support for others.
  • Develop, concept, film, and edit content across TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms.
  • Support major product launches, cultural campaigns, and partnerships with social-first storytelling.
  • Drive virality with scroll-stopping content that embodies Poppi's disruptive voice and visual identity.
  • Contribute to overarching platform strategy with insights on current trends and future direction.
  • Execute a high-volume, in-house content engine, producing hundreds of assets monthly.
  • Brief external teams, contractors, and creators on social content, ensuring brand alignment.
  • Ensure consistency and evolution of Poppi's brand voice across all social platforms.
  • Identify and act on cultural trends in real-time to drive relevance, engagement, and virality.
  • Establish efficient workflows and processes for content production speed, scale, and quality.
  • Monitor cultural trends, memes, and viral moments, consistently generating ideas to keep Poppi culturally relevant.
  • Manage giveaways and UGC-driven initiatives to build social loyalty.
  • Partner cross-functionally with influencer, creative, and retail marketing teams for cohesive campaigns.
  • Support retail-specific social asks, tailoring creative content for in-store and online traction.
  • Support the team in bringing activations, influencer events, and IRL moments to life, including social coverage.
  • Attend and document events and pop-ups to capture behind-the-scenes content and amplify moments.
  • Onboard, manage, and mentor a direct report, providing guidance, feedback, and career development.
  • Delegate effectively to scale content output while maintaining quality and brand consistency.
  • Build team capability alongside personal output, supporting growth in both.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in social media, content strategy, or content marketing, including experience shaping channel strategy.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into structured creative briefs and clear direction for teams and collaborators.
  • Strong platform expertise across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging channels, with a native understanding of platform behaviors and nuances.
  • Deep cultural fluency — a track record of identifying and acting on trends ahead of the curve.
  • Highly developed creative taste in short-form video (sound, editing style, pacing, visual storytelling) and sharp editorial judgment.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members, or strong readiness to take on people management.
  • Data-driven mindset, with experience using performance insights to optimize content and inform strategy.
  • Ability to operate with speed and autonomy in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workstreams without compromising quality or brand consistency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Champion of Poppi's brand values and community, with a genuine love of pop culture and internet trends.

Salary/Compensations

  • $80,700 - $135,100
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 5% of annual salary paid out annually.
