About the Role

HDR is seeking a Construction Contract Administrator to join our Building Engineering Services team in Texas. This role is crucial for coordinating with clients, project managers, engineering teams, and contractors to ensure project success. You will be involved in multidisciplinary coordination, shop drawing reviews, and site observations, contributing to technically excellent projects.

Responsibilities

Mentor, organize, and facilitate the growth of junior construction contract administrator staff.
Assist in the development of fully coordinated multidisciplinary designs.
Build working relationships with the owner and design/contracting team to allow for open communication regarding issues that come up during design and construction.
Work with the design and construction team to determine the best solutions for the project.
Perform constructability reviews at each design phase for projects internal to HDR.
Perform peer reviews for constructability and coordination for external clients.
Assist the design team with constructability questions as needed.
Participate in internal/external page turns and drawing reviews of the projects during design and construction.
Run construction meetings with the design team, contractors, and owners as required.
Perform bid review/leveling from the contractors as requested by the owner.
Provide close coordination with the design team, owner, general contractor, and subcontractors during project construction.
Perform site visits as required to validate general quality of work and construction progress.
Work with the team to perform/document lessons learned during and after the completion of the project.
Provide design support during construction including field observations, submittal and shop drawing review, and Request for Information (RFI) review.
Track schedules during construction.
Perform other duties as needed.
Participate in professional development seminars, courses, workshops, or conferences.
Maintain continuing education requirements for any certification or license.

Requirements

7 years contract-related experience; advanced degree or contract certification program may substitute for years of experience.
Working to expert knowledge of contracting concepts and company and client requirements.
Professional, self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented with the flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, with minimal management oversight.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including complex MS Excel spreadsheets with formulas.
Excellent writing and people skills.
Strong math, analytical and organizational skills.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
