About the Role

The Scrum Master serves as the delivery engine behind cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring they are planned, tracked, and executed with Agile rigor across a portfolio of initiatives spanning governance, engineering, operations, and related security capabilities. This role facilitates Agile ceremonies, removes impediments, protects team focus, and drives continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Track sprint health, delivery predictability, capacity utilization, throughput, and burndown metrics.
  • Guide teams in applying Agile principles effectively within a cybersecurity delivery environment.
  • Manage and visualize operational workstreams originating from IT service management platforms, incorporating Kanban practices.
  • Help teams balance sprint commitments with operational responsibilities such as vulnerability remediation, security incidents, and engineering support.
  • Identify and resolve impediments impacting delivery, coordinating across cybersecurity, IT, and business stakeholders.
  • Protect the team from unplanned scope changes and external interruptions during sprint execution.
  • Coach team members on Agile practices, self-organization, and delivery accountability.
  • Foster a collaborative and psychologically safe environment where teams can surface challenges and continuously improve.
  • Maintain real-time visibility into delivery progress across active sprints and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Provide concise sprint and program-level reporting for cybersecurity leadership.
  • Flag delivery risks, schedule impacts, and capacity constraints early, with recommended mitigation actions.
  • Maintain visibility into operational ticket flow and backlog health to help leadership understand workload distribution.
  • Lead effective retrospectives that drive actionable improvements in team delivery practices.
  • Identify patterns across sprints and teams that indicate systemic delivery issues; bring data-driven recommendations to the Manager for process or structural changes.
  • Contribute to the team's ways of working documentation, onboarding materials, and delivery playbooks.
  • Stay current with Agile and delivery best practices, bringing relevant innovations and frameworks back to the team.
  • Serve as a coordination point between cybersecurity teams, domain leads, and technology stakeholders.
  • Support the Manager, Cybersecurity Strategy & Governance on sprint planning inputs, resource capacity, and initiative sequencing.
  • Communicate delivery status, priorities, and blockers clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Support intake and prioritization processes by helping translate cybersecurity initiative requests into well-structured backlog items.
