About the Role
At Home Instead, we provide top-tier non-medical care and companionship for seniors, positioning us as a global leader. Our visits are a minimum of one hour, and our award-winning training ensures Care Professionals deliver exceptional care. We match Care Professionals with clients based on shared interests to foster trust and personalized support, upholding our reputation for quality care.
Responsibilities
- Offer companionship and conversation.
- Stimulate and encourage through a variety of activities (e.g., clothing selection, hobbies, crafts).
- Accompany clients to appointments and social events (e.g., visiting friends or family, lunch, club meetings).
- Perform light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, washing and ironing, taking out rubbish, caring for houseplants).
- Organize and tidy cupboards, check food expiry dates, and assist with shopping.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food safety and ability to cook various meals from raw ingredients.
- Assist with pet care.
- Help with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with continence care.
- Consider and understand the perspective of individuals with Dementia/Alzheimer's.
- Assist with morning and evening routines.
Requirements
- Ability to listen, communicate clearly, and build relationships with clients and their families in a friendly and pleasant manner.
- Respect for individuals with different backgrounds, beliefs, and medical conditions, with a commitment to non-discriminatory care practices.
- Excellent timekeeping, organization, and reliability.
- Good hygiene practices, including personal hygiene and a smart appearance.
- Must obtain an Enhanced Disclosure from the relevant body.
- Possess Class 1 business insurance (if using own car for business purposes) or have reliable transport.
- Resident in the UK.
- All Right to Work documents available.
- No sponsorship available.
