About the Role
Float Medical Assistants are assigned to multiple locations within the state and/or region, working closely with a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and provide an exceptional guest experience. This role requires versatility, adaptability, and flexibility to cover shifts and work at various locations, ensuring continuity of work processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
- Review previous medical information and gather relevant health information from patients.
- Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
- Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations under provider direction.
- Partner with care team members to develop individual patient plans of care.
- Perform front desk duties including patient scheduling, medical record requests, documentation, coordinating specialist visits, referrals, check-in, and check-out.
- Record accurate data in the medical record according to guidelines.
- Process test results and provide timely results to patients.
- Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement.
- Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
- National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
- MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
- Requires travel to other locations within the state and/or region.
- Requires a flexible schedule to cover shifts and work at various locations.
