About the Role
The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is seeking a Preclinical Sales Specialist to drive growth in preclinical services and support the sale of scientific products and solutions across the UK, Ireland, and parts of the EU. This field-based role involves building customer relationships, identifying market opportunities, and collaborating on sales initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Channel Partners, and Business Unit Managers to execute revenue generation strategies.
- Assist in meeting financial goals for JAX services through team efforts and internal coordination.
- Support sales conversion efforts to increase market share for JAX's products and services.
- Contribute to sales solutions and presentations, primarily for larger studies.
- Identify and engage potential new customers, focusing on relationship building and needs assessment.
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce.com, including customer details and business opportunity pipelines.
- Provide technical and scientific support in the field, including product presentations and customer feedback gathering.
- Accompany regional Channel Partners on customer visits to support sales efforts and receive product training.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, sharing insights to inform sales and marketing strategies.
- Demonstrate commitment to teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s or PhD a plus.
- 5–7 years of related sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability to support business strategy development and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to build new customer relationships.
- Advanced technical and scientific understanding relevant to JMCRS products and services.
- Laboratory experience and technical background, with a preference for mouse genetics.
- Research experience in cancer, immunology, autoimmunity/inflammation, neurobiology, or metabolic disease is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships.
- Curiosity, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to contribute to decision-making processes with guidance.
- Ability to support persuasive communication and influence through collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team across internal departments and with external partners.
- Ability to assist in planning and evaluating projects under supervision.
- A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 60%.
- Fluency in English.
