About the Role
As a senior member of staff in Infrastructure Development, this individual is responsible for building a future-fit infrastructure and organization for JLL, developing and enabling resilient and adaptable infrastructure across the enterprise. The Head of Development Tools brings experience, knowledge, and future vision for transforming the infrastructure function including the management of source code repository, CICD pipelines, golden images/patterns, OS, containers, immutable & resilient infrastructure, observability standards, and support of tooling, infrastructure & applications.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of Development Tools, including Observability, Operating Systems, Containers, Source Code and Pipelines.
- Nurture healthy engagement with stakeholders/users of the tooling and ensure measurable benefits.
- Create and communicate a pioneering vision for Infrastructure Development, including value proposition in digital transformation, cloud optimization, and adoption of innovative technologies.
- Optimize, redesign, and deliver engagement models for Infrastructure services.
- Champion innovation by embracing and driving automation and observability.
- Create and execute strategies for cloud, edge, and on-premises infrastructure.
- Develop future-proofing talent strategies to develop, upskill, and retain an adaptive workforce.
- Modernize to a cost-optimized, on-time, and stable hybrid infrastructure.
- Build resilient platforms to power business growth.
- Build relationships and collaborate effectively across various levels of the organization.
- Convey complex technical concepts and strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Define the value of Infrastructure Development, including objectives, metrics, and KPIs.
- Track outcomes against goals, such as reducing risk and optimizing cost.
- Drive the adoption of service improvements through a programmatic approach to continuous improvement.
- Measure and share the impact of service improvements.
- Continuously evaluate the business value of Infrastructure Development using metrics such as KPIs, Outcome Driven Metrics, and OKRs.
Requirements
- Has a clear strategic vision, with the ability to develop and communicate an Infrastructure Development vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the IT and business strategy.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to various audiences.
- Aptitude to facilitate collaboration and build relationships across business lines.
- Articulate Infrastructure Development approach to risk-taking to non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen, including industry and domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units.
- Deep understanding of current and emerging Infrastructure Development technologies and practices.
- Skilled at driving cultural change; Evangelizing and implementing transformational initiatives.
- Successful history of building and leading diverse teams.
