About the Role
Oversee housekeeping operations to ensure efficient functioning, maintain high cleanliness standards, and create a welcoming environment for guests. This role involves leading housekeeping teams, ensuring the quality of guest rooms and public spaces, and protecting hotel assets through effective leadership and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Inspect all rooms to ensure compliance with company and brand standards for cleaning, sanitizing, linens, supplies, and overall presentation.
- Provide advanced housekeeping training, focusing on room needs like linens, towel arrangement, restocking supplies, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning after guest check-outs.
- Ensure timely delivery and coordination with the laundry department.
- Provide refresher training to staff as needed or when processes change.
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs and report any items requiring attention.
- Check and restock consumable supply levels on housekeeping carts.
- Maintain documented and accurate inventory of all housekeeping supplies, linens, and cleaning items.
- Notify the General Manager of any damages, deficits, or disturbances.
- Communicate maintenance requests from housekeeping team members to the maintenance team.
- Communicate room readiness to the front desk team for arriving guests.
- Oversee housekeeping operations, including cleanliness, service, and product quality standards for guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices, and banquet/meeting/conference rooms.
- Assist in managing operations within the labor budget, including meal penalties, overtime, employee schedules, and staffing.
- Perform other duties as required, including cross-training.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in hospitality industry housekeeping required.
- Ability to maintain consistent and effective work performance.
- Thorough understanding of hotel regulations, operational processes, policies, and obligations.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Strong detail orientation and high accuracy level.
- Ability to understand and consistently follow applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, both one-on-one and in groups, with effective listening and response abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to multitask and handle pressure.
- Ability to follow instructions and accept feedback.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to delegate, resolve conflict, and respect diversity.
- Ability to train and mentor adults.
- May require working weekends, holidays, or variable shifts based on business needs.
