About the Role
Lead safe, inclusive, and high-energy recess play for elementary school students, teaching sports and wellness. This role offers comprehensive training and is ideal for individuals passionate about youth development.
Responsibilities
- Lead fun, safe, and inclusive recess play for children ages 4-10.
- Teach sports fundamentals through quick-start games.
- Ensure program safety and reliability by arriving on time for all assigned program days.
- Attend in-person orientation training.
- Participate in pre-session coach huddles and follow daily recess plans.
- Interact positively with students, teachers, yard staff, and school administrators.
- Set up and clean up equipment for each recess block.
Requirements
- Must be available midday on assigned program days for the full school year.
- Must have reliable transportation to coaching sites.
- A vehicle is helpful for transporting equipment.
- Must be responsible and professional, arriving on time and keeping accurate attendance.
- Must interact positively with parents and school staff.
- Must possess strong communication skills for interacting with ANTS, parents, and site staff via email and phone.
- Must be an enthusiastic and positive role model.
- Must be patient and understand the developmental pace of young children.
- Experience as a player or coach (at least two years) is highly valuable, though optional.
- Must pass a Federal and state Background Check and/or FBI Fingerprinting (Livescan).
- Must test negative for TB test within the last 4 years.
- Ability to work a few hours in the afternoon while maintaining school and other commitments.
