About the Role
As an experienced Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing project estimates by analyzing specifications and contract plans to ensure cost-effective quantities and construction methods align with pursuit, schedule and price goals. Responsibilities
- Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, and attends pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required estimate contents.
- Incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports into unit and person-hour figures.
- Provides technical input regarding project and contract risks to the lead estimator.
- Reviews the final estimate to ensure defined work aligns with overall project schedule and cost goals.
- Prepares discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and material quantity requirements from engineering drawings.
- Monitors client addendums and advises the estimating team on changes during the estimate period.
- Assists with design review options and recommends the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or material availability.
- Partners with the estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit and project management teams.
- Researches and recommends vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field required.
- 7+ years of experience in construction industry, estimating or cost control preferred.
- Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Growing knowledge of alternative construction delivery methods.

- CAD $110,000.00/Yr. - CAD $130,000.00/Yr.
