About the Role

Supervise the day-to-day activities of clinic administrative staff in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train Medical Admitting Clerks (MAC) at the assigned clinic.
  • Coordinate staffing levels to ensure proper patient flow.
  • Oversee daily activities of the registration area to meet department standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all personnel department policies and procedures.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement changes to administrative processes and procedures.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, complaints, and requests for assistance.
  • Secure necessary signatures for treatments, medical information release, and insurance benefits assignment.
  • Ensure timely processing of billing, co-pays, and deposits.
  • Maintain and report QA statistics, including patient wait times.
  • Manage the purchasing of business and medical supplies within budget.
  • Collaborate with nursing and ancillary departments to foster teamwork.
  • Perform all functions of a MAC.
  • Provide coverage for staff during sick or vacation time.
  • Resolve patient issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Complete annual safety updates through the organization’s computerized education system.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission and CommUnityCare SOPs and Policies.
  • Develop and maintain positive internal relationships with colleagues, managers, providers, and business office staff.
  • Interact respectfully and collaboratively with patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the care team in providing patient-centered care.
  • Represent CommUnityCare professionally in all actions, performance, conduct, and communications.
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, mission, and values.

Requirements

  • Graduate from high school or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of office or administrative experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance verification procedures and medical terminology preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Demonstrated success in directing staff to achieve a common goal.
  • Demonstrated experience and familiarity with healthcare environment tools and systems (personal computer, spreadsheets, word processing, patient records systems, EMR systems, etc.).
