About the Role
MongoDB is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the Partner Platform, which includes products, experiences, and operating models enabling ecosystem partners to build high-quality MongoDB experiences. This role is at the intersection of humans, AI agents, and partners, aiming to make MongoDB the preferred database for AI-native software development. It requires strategic product leadership and hands-on execution in a highly cross-functional and visible capacity.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the MongoDB Partner Platform, including the Partner API and self-serve partner experiences.
- Translate partner and customer needs into product strategies and roadmaps.
- Develop the Partner API, focusing on self-serve onboarding, enterprise controls, partner-managed accounts, discovery, and integration quality.
- Establish a repeatable operating model for partner intake, engagement, support, launch readiness, documentation, incident response, and learning.
- Collaborate with Engineering, IAM, Billing, Security, Design, Docs, Analytics, Product Marketing, Partnerships, Sales, and Technical Services.
- Engage with strategic AI-native partners and cloud platforms to understand their users, business models, and technical constraints.
- Ensure the platform serves both human and AI agent developers with understandable APIs, tooling, observability, security, and resilience.
- Define metrics to measure platform value, including partner activation, integration success, end-user adoption, and revenue.
- Create product narratives and communicate strategy to various stakeholders, including executives and engineering teams.
- Represent MongoDB externally as a thought leader in AI-native development, developer ecosystems, and partner platforms.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management or equivalent experience, with ownership of complex technical products, platforms, APIs, developer tools, ecosystems, or partner integrations.
- Proven success in taking a product or platform from an ambiguous opportunity through launch, adoption, and evolution.
- Deep technical fluency in APIs, authentication, distributed systems, platform boundaries, integrations, data flows, reliability, and security.
- Experience building products for developers, technical users, AI-native workflows, or platform ecosystems.
- Direct experience with AI agents, MCP, agent frameworks, agentic coding tools, or agentic developer platforms is strongly preferred.
- Clear understanding of the differences between building for human developers and AI agents, including implications for APIs, documentation, tooling, and quality.
- Strong partner and customer focus, with the ability to translate needs into product strategy.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations, align teams without direct authority, and create momentum.
- Comfort balancing speed, security, quality, enterprise requirements, and long-term platform health.
- Strong analytical judgment and ability to define meaningful outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI-native development and hands-on use of AI tools.
