About the Role
The May Center Utility Worker is responsible for performing cleaning duties, equipment maintenance, and ensuring a spotless and fully functioning center environment. This role involves primary responsibility for locker rooms or fitness/athletic venues and office areas, with cross-training in alternate locations. The Utility Worker will also assist patrons using these facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of customer service to all May Center patrons.
- Keep locker room, fitness, athletic and office facilities clean and organized at all times.
- Keep fresh towels and amenities stocked at all times.
- Pick up, transport and store dirty towels.
- Respond to cleaning needs as requested by management.
- Use cleaning equipment to maintain a clean facility environment.
- Clean, store, move and adjust fitness equipment.
- Report broken equipment and other maintenance issues to manager on duty.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Customer service experience.
- Friendly and outgoing personality with good verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Must be able to lift 25+ lbs.
- Previous experience as a porter in a fitness, athletic or hospitality setting is a plus.
- CPR certification preferred.
