About the Role
The Health Education and Outreach Supervisor oversees the development, marketing, and implementation of educational and outreach programs for youth ages 11-19. This role supervises site staff, ensures high-quality service delivery, and builds relationships with community organizations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all programs meet goals and objectives in compliance with funding sources.
- Maintain site operations in accordance with PPCWNY policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on program outcomes and impacts.
- Identify barriers and ensure access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare and family planning services for teens.
- Supervise the Youth Site Coordinator and oversee youth education contractors and peer educators.
- Ensure staff are provided with and follow an annual work plan.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Identify and respond to coaching, mentoring, and training needs of staff.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations to broaden program impact.
- Coordinate and conduct outreach activities to promote the program.
- Oversee and provide health and youth development education sessions.
- Deliver evidence-based programs with fidelity to youth.
- Ensure educational materials are up to date and relevant.
- Collaborate with team members to plan, co-facilitate, and implement programming.
- Provide assistance and/or referrals for youth to obtain comprehensive family planning and health services.
- Maintain records for programming activities.
- Submit reports as required.
- Attend and participate in agency meetings, training, and in-services.
- Meet deadlines for requested written reports and data entry.
- Help maintain a Just Culture and welcoming environment for youth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health education or a health-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience providing comprehensive sexuality education to adolescents.
- Experience working with youth and demonstrated ability to be non-stigmatizing.
- Ability to facilitate discussions and teach classes on reproductive health topics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of reproductive health, anatomy and physiology, and family planning.
- Knowledge of or experience with the community and priority population to be served.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to plan and implement programs.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various groups and stakeholders.
- Bilingual skills may be required depending on the community and youth served.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license.
