About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Room Preventative Maintenance Technician to maintain the quality, comfort, and safety of our guest rooms. This role involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance, identifying repair needs proactively, and ensuring all rooms meet our quality and brand standards. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs in areas such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest maintenance requests and internal work orders.
- Conduct daily property walk-throughs and complete duty round checklists, addressing issues as needed.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation of equipment and building systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of maintenance spaces, work areas, and any impacted guest/public areas during repairs.
- Install, maintain, and repair appliances, light fixtures, door hardware, and more.
- Check and maintain safety systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, ventilation systems, etc.).
- Support outdoor upkeep: maintain trash areas, assist with minor landscaping tasks.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors for external support when needed.
- Communicate effectively with the Director of Engineering and General Manager regarding major repairs or safety concerns.
Requirements
- Prior experience in hotel or property dwellings maintenance.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance best practices.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and reading technical manuals or schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform duties in a variety of indoor/outdoor settings.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide current legal I9 documentation.
