About the Role
Oliver Wyman is growing its Actuarial team and seeking individuals with the intent to train as Actuaries. This position requires analyzing complex problems and developing innovative solutions for clients, working closely with wider management consulting and actuarial teams across Europe and other regions.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside and learn from industry leaders and experienced consultants.
- Contribute to a broad range of client projects.
- Gain industry exposure with clients including top-tier insurance companies, reinsurance companies, investment banks, law firms, regulators, and private equity firms.
- Take initiative on new and emerging ideas, leveraging the wider Oliver Wyman and Marsh organizations.
- Analyze capital and financial reporting, including capital optimization, IFRS 17, and regulatory changes.
- Provide risk management support, including validation, risk appetite reviews, and climate risk.
- Support new business propositions and product development (Life and P&C), including modeling, valuation analysis, and strategy.
- Conduct due diligence for mergers & acquisitions, including actuarial assumption review and strategy.
- Transform pre and post actuarial model data and processes, including systems integration and analytics.
- Perform actuarial model conversions and optimization.
- Deliver client and industry presentations, surveys, and case studies.
- Provide marketing support and business development, including managing proposals and tenders.
- Develop and maintain intellectual capital, involving data science techniques and quantitative finance methodologies.
- Support other business lines within the Marsh family to build integrated client solutions.
Requirements
- Commitment to passing actuarial exams to achieve FIA designation within a few years.
- Continued commitment to maintain membership to the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
- Strong skills with MS Office – including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Awareness of and ability to utilize AI tools.
- Outstanding written and oral communication in both formal and informal settings.
- Track record of and desire for rapid learning, high performance, and professional growth.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Understanding of the value of collaboration and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Deep critical-thinking skills and problem-solving ability.
- Highly motivated individual willing to work in a dynamic environment.
