About the Role
This internship offers hands-on experience in fundraising within a dynamic cultural organization, supporting research, individual giving, membership, special events, and development operations. It provides exposure to all facets of fundraising, particularly for those interested in frontline roles. The ideal candidate is adaptable, professional, and enthusiastic about arts and culture in a growing, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct prospect research, creating donor profiles and briefs.
- Generate reports for wealth screenings, team portfolios, and discovery pipelines.
- Research and build profiles for special event attendees and patrons.
- Provide administrative support for strategic donor communications.
- Assist with membership event planning and execution.
- Develop monthly newsletters for members.
- Manage membership and Claddagh perk fulfillment.
- Identify potential prospects for upper-level membership.
- Provide day/night-of assistance for special events, including guest check-in and logistics.
- Assist with fundraising and event communications, including email blasts and RSVP tracking.
- Organize, prep, and order supplies for special events.
Requirements
- Prior administrative work experience, preferably in a development or non-profit context.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Willingness to learn database software, Tessitura.
- An interest in the arts/culture, and non-profit field.
- Openness in speaking to and connecting with community members and donor prospects.
- Detail-oriented.
- Superior writing, editing, and research skills.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, enthusiastic.
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities, work independently when needed, and set/adhere to deadlines.
- Must reside in New York City or the surrounding area.
- Requires US work authorization.
- Must complete employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

- Irish Arts Center (IAC) is a national and international home for artists and audiences of all backgrounds, presenting, developing, supporting, and promoting work from established and emerging artists.
- IAC provides cultural experiences that are innovative, collaborative, diverse, authentic, and emotionally and intellectually transporting.
- Founded in 1972, IAC has also provided community education programs and access to the arts for adults and children of all ages and ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- IAC recently completed construction of a $60 million landmark new permanent home featuring state-of-the-art facilities for performance, arts, education, and digital content distribution.
- A second phase will renovate an adjacent building to provide an intimate performance space, optimized for live music, conversation, recordings, podcasts, master classes, and special events.
