About the Role
The Department of Psychology at Cape Breton University seeks a Full-Time Limited Term Assistant Professor or Lecturer in Psychology. This role focuses on teaching undergraduate courses, supervising thesis students, and developing research programs. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to an authentic multicultural academic community on Canada's east coast.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses including Introduction to Psychology, Data Analysis, and Research Methods.
- Supervise undergraduate honors thesis students.
- Participate in program development.
- Develop a strong research program.
- Support research plans and seek funding.
- Supervise undergraduate student research assistants.
- Undertake appropriate service activities within the university community.
Requirements
- PhD in psychology with demonstrated strength in research methodology and quantitative analysis.
- In exceptional cases, candidates in the very late stages of their PhD may be considered with completion as a condition of employment.
- Candidates with a relevant Master’s degree who have completed all requirements for a relevant PhD but are currently completing their dissertation may be considered for the rank of Lecturer.
- Ability to teach courses in research methods and data analysis.
- Ability to teach in advanced statistics, psychometrics, and the candidate’s own area of specialization is an asset.
- Demonstrate research background and support research plans.
- Demonstrate potential and commitment to teaching, research, and service.
- All required documents must be uploaded to Additional Documents with correct titles.
