About the Role
The Digital Designer, Brand & Site owns the ongoing visual design of faherty.com and extends that work across the brand’s digital channels. This graphic design-led role focuses on typography, layout, composition, and color applied to a commerce experience that balances user needs, business objectives, and aesthetic standards.
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day design of the site experience, including homepage, landing pages, PLP and PDP modules, navigation, and promotional placements.
- Design new features and page templates end to end, producing user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, interaction details, and prototypes.
- Translate seasonal campaign creative into site placements, maintaining art direction integrity while solving for hierarchy, merchandising priorities, and conversion.
- Design within the design system and brand guidelines, contributing components and patterns.
- Design responsively and mobile-first, considering behavior across breakpoints.
- Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards.
- Balance craft and storytelling against KPIs and user success metrics.
- Design routine and seasonal updates to the Faherty app, including merchandising modules, promotional placements, campaign takeovers, and evergreen content.
- Carry campaign expression into the app, adapting layouts and type systems to native patterns and screen constraints.
- Partner with the app development team on UI/UX, specs, asset handoff, and QA.
- Ship design updates directly in Shopify, enabling merchandising changes and lightweight optimizations.
- Partner with Frontend Development, QA, and site partners through the build cycle to confirm technical feasibility, validate implementation, surface issues, and iterate on live features.
- Compress and optimize assets for front-end performance and site speed without sacrificing visual quality.
- Measure and optimize site design against KPIs, including conversion rate, engagement, and task completion.
- Use qualitative and quantitative research, usability testing, and performance data to inform and validate design decisions.
- Partner on testing roadmaps with Site Ops and Integrated Marketing, designing variants and analyzing results.
- Adapt seasonal campaign expression across site and content channels, applying established typographic and compositional language.
- Work under the direction of the Creative team, translating approved campaign direction into digital touchpoints.
- Produce and extend supporting graphic elements for seasonal campaigns, including typographic lockups, promotional badging, iconography, and layout templates.
- Stay current on design tools and techniques, as well as broader currents in fashion, art, and culture.
Requirements
- Graphic design craft with a discerning eye for typography, layout, composition, color, iconography, and editorial design.
- Proven experience designing and shipping retail or DTC site experiences, with an understanding of merchandising logic and conversion.
- Fluency in UI/UX, comfortable moving between user flows, information architecture, wireframing, high-fidelity interface design, interaction detail, and motion considerations.
- Ability to work within an established design system and extend it by building components and patterns.
- Comfort working directly in the Shopify theme editor to independently ship design and merchandising updates.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, variants, auto layout, and prototyping.
- Hands-on fluency with AI tools in a production design workflow for image generation and editing, asset variation, retouching, and rapid iteration.
- Demonstrated ability to work with Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Brand teams to translate creative vision into digital execution.
- Ability to weigh user needs, business objectives, and brand vision, focusing on measurable outcomes while protecting craft and storytelling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a solutions-oriented approach.
