About the Role
As a Vice President, Managing Director in Select Market, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and growing strong relationships with key employee benefit decision-makers, influencers, and C-suite executives at Fidelity’s institutional clients. This role leads and collaborates with an internal team to solve client problems and offer consultative solutions, helping clients lead successful Benefits and Total Wellness programs.
Responsibilities
- Assume a consultative role to understand client business needs and relevant issues.
- Ensure client satisfaction by seeking feedback and proactively providing solutions.
- Build positive client relationships based on shared dedication to mutual goals.
- Set the strategic direction for client relationships and demonstrate ownership.
- Act as the client’s trusted advisor.
- Identify and maintain consistent contact with key client decision makers.
- Engage key client decision makers and advisors frequently to understand client needs.
- Stay advised of changes in the client's business, competition, industry, and marketplace to advise and drive client happiness.
- Design and conduct strategic planning and service review meetings.
- Position products and solutions to help clients achieve their benefits goals.
- Facilitate discussions with clients regarding legal, regulatory, and design issues.
- Consult with clients on qualified and non-qualified plan design alternatives.
- Work with consultants on inbound inquiries, plan sponsor presentations, plan design, product, technology, customer concerns, fund changes, revenue requirements, pricing negotiations, Fidelity thought leadership, and plan analytics.
- Build productive long-term relationships with consultants and/or advisors.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Fidelity business partners to drive operational accuracy, efficiency, and problem resolution.
- Lead internal teams in problem resolution.
- Develop a customer-centric relationship management strategy and business plan for each client.
- Lead a diverse multi-product Fidelity offering including: Defined Contribution, Health Savings Accounts, Health and Welfare, Defined Benefits, Stock Plan Services, Student Debt and Workplace Giving.
- Differentiate Fidelity's benefits approach against competitive benefit solutions.
- Proactively lead pricing and fees discussions.
- Collaborate with extended service teams to provide information on fiduciary duties, participant communication, and education strategies.
- Advocate for the client within the boundaries of sound financial judgment and long-term Fidelity interests.
- Make decisions based on long-term view of trends, issues, business implications, and cross-Fidelity impacts.
- Provide analysis and advice to resolve customer needs.
- Handle difficult client interactions and solve sophisticated client challenges.
- Solve issues and lead customer concerns appropriately.
Requirements
- Require associate in this role to hold Series 7 and 63 licenses.
- Prefer associates to have 8+ years of Relationship Management or Client Service experience; preferably within Retirement/401K industry.
- Experience with Health and Welfare, Defined Benefits and Stock Plan Services administration is also effective, but not required.
- Excellent presentation, influence, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and executive presence capabilities are needed.
