You will develop and execute a targeted sales and capital raising strategy, cultivate and manage relationships with key institutional investors, and leverage your network to originate new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Leading fundraising efforts across North America for DWS's European Private Credit strategies, with a primary focus on institutional investors in Canada and the United States.
- Developing and executing a targeted sales and capital raising strategy for Private Credit products, aligning fundraising activity with client demand, market opportunities and strategic business priorities.
- Cultivating and managing relationships with key institutional investors, including Canadian pension funds, US pension funds, and select insurance investors.
- Leveraging an established network of institutional decision-makers, consultants and investment advisors to originate new opportunities and accelerate fundraising outcomes.
- Generating and advancing a robust pipeline of prospective investors, proactively securing meetings, identifying new mandates and converting opportunities into assets under management.
- Partnering closely with Investment, Product, Investor Relations and Client Coverage teams to deliver coordinated client engagement and capital formation initiatives.
- Representing DWS Private Credit strategies in client meetings, due diligence sessions, industry conferences and investor events.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of private credit, fixed income and broader institutional asset allocation trends to provide market insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of fundraising materials, investor presentations, due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), RFP responses and other marketing content.
- Managing investor due diligence processes and supporting successful onboarding of new investors in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Gathering and sharing market intelligence, competitive insights and client feedback to inform product development, fundraising strategies and business planning.
- Building strong relationships across the DWS Alternatives platform, acting as a trusted partner to investment professionals and broader distribution teams.
- Supporting the achievement of fundraising targets through disciplined opportunity management, pipeline reporting and execution against strategic growth objectives.
Requirements
- Proven success in institutional capital raising, fundraising or business development within private markets, alternative investments, private credit or fixed income.
- A demonstrated track record of raising capital from institutional investors across North America, particularly pension funds and other large asset owners.
- Existing relationships with Canadian pension plans, US pension funds, consultants and institutional investment decision-makers that can be leveraged immediately.
- Strong knowledge of private credit markets, fixed income investing and institutional portfolio construction.
- Experience marketing and distributing alternative investment products, including private credit, direct lending, asset-based finance, opportunistic credit and related strategies.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify, originate and convert investment opportunities into successful fundraising outcomes.
- A thorough understanding of the institutional fundraising lifecycle, including prospecting, due diligence, negotiations and investor onboarding.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a senior client-facing role while collaborating effectively across investment, product and distribution teams.
- Excellent relationship management, networking and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to establish credibility with both clients and investment professionals.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, including experience leading sophisticated investment discussions with institutional audiences.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to create opportunities rather than solely manage existing relationships.
