About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate for our London Employment team, specializing in complex transactional employment work, particularly for US-headquartered clients and cross-border US/UK matters. This role is crucial for the growth of our employment practice, offering a mix of transactional, contentious, and advisory work on high-value corporate transactions and sensitive legal issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of contentious, advisory, and transactional employment matters.
  • Lead employment law aspects of complex domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity investments, restructurings, and group reorganisations.
  • Advise clients on contentious matters, including employment tribunal claims and High Court litigation.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory colleagues on matters involving regulatory/employment law crossover.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic advice.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and thought leadership.
  • Manage client work effectively, ensuring timely progress and client communication.
  • Maintain high standards of client care.
  • Respond promptly to client needs, including outside standard office hours.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
  • Supervise and assist in the professional development of junior team members.
  • Stay updated on current legislation and changes in the area of expertise.

  • Substantial experience in complex transactional employment work.
  • Experience across a range of employment matters.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
  • Strong client management skills and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to understand and apply complex legal principles.
