About the Role

As a Commercial Banker at First Citizens Bank, you will develop and expand relationships with business owners in your community to help them meet their financial goals. You will be the primary contact for borrowing needs over $5MM and engage bank partners to provide a full range of deposit and related business services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team performance and personnel functions, ensuring operational soundness and delivering results that create customer value and meet financial expectations.
  • Drive accountability through feedback and coaching to support associate development and achievement of results.
  • Leverage expertise of bank partners, other managers, or teams.
  • Achieve individual and/or team financial, production, and relationship results.
  • Engage with customers, prospects, and referral sources through proactive outreach.
  • Represent the Bank in the community by attending and participating in civic and community events.
  • Engage in sales practices that create value for both the customer and the bank.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers, prospects, and colleagues.
  • Initiate conversations to uncover sales or referral opportunities.
  • Listen attentively, ask insightful questions to understand customer needs, and take prompt actions.
  • Proactively seek coaching, support bank initiatives, and leverage tools to enhance activities.
  • Comply with all regulations, bank policies, procedures, and delegated authorities.
  • Complete required training by established deadlines.
  • Perform general office management duties as assigned.
  • Ensure transaction accuracy and operational efficiency for deposit-taking functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Commercial or business lending, credit or business development OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Commercial or business lending, credit or business development.
  • Established COI's and referral sources.
  • Financial analysis and credit underwriting skills.
  • Knowledge of business lending, deposit and cash management solutions.
  • Ability to provide financial guidance and expertise.
  • Sales planning and forecasting experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Position requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc.
