About the Role
This role coordinates a new Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Advisory Board for the SFDPH Behavioral Health TAY SOC, supporting TAY leadership development and community impact.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach and recruitment for the TAY advisory board.
- Manage the TAY Advisory Board application, interviewing, and onboarding process.
- Develop and maintain advisory board structure to foster TAY skills and collect feedback.
- Share findings with leadership and network to inform quality improvement.
- Identify and implement system development projects with TAY advisory members.
- Encourage diverse and inclusive membership on the TAY SOC network.
- Strategize with TAY SOC leadership on TAYAB annual program planning, goals, metrics, and deliverables.
- Coordinate and facilitate TAY Advisory Board meetings, including agendas, trainings, communications, and minutes.
- Support and empower TAYAB members in their board roles.
- Collaborate with DPH staff, TAY participants, and partner agencies.
- Participate in TAY SOC leadership team meetings.
- Represent DPH and support TAY SOC at stakeholder events and community tables.
- Participate in supervision meetings, staff meetings, and trainings.
- Promote TAY SOC awareness by drafting write-ups for communications.
- Support data collection and synthesis efforts.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum one to two (1-2) years of professional and/or lived experience in program coordination and management.
- Experience planning, developing workplans/action plans, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating youth leadership programs.
- Lived and/or professional experience working with at-risk TAY, Black/African American, Native American, LGBTQ+, Asian and Pacific Islanders, Latinx, recent immigrant communities, and individuals with various socioeconomic status, physical needs, and mental health/substance use needs.
- Good interpersonal skills and comfort communicating with diverse partners.
- Organized and detail-oriented with flexibility in addressing priorities.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and think critically.
- Passion for behavioral health advocacy, racial health equity, and/or TAY empowerment.
- Strong computer skills, preferably using Office 365/Microsoft Suite Applications.
- Experience working in nonprofit and government settings is helpful.
- Ability to work well in person and remote.
