About the Role
Newmark’s 2-year graduate programme offers a structured path to kickstart your career in Building Consultancy. You will gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplined teams, work with senior professionals, and develop the skills and competencies needed to achieve your MRICS qualification through the 2-year cognate APC route. The programme is built around challenging projects, offering autonomy and accountability, with regular 1:1 check-ins. Joining the expanding Building Consultancy team means growing with the team and our Early Careers cohort.
Responsibilities
- Conduct building inspections and site visits, supporting dilapidations, schedules of condition, and pre-acquisition surveys
- Assist with reinstatement cost assessments, feasibility studies, and building performance and compliance reviews
- Research construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements to support technical advice to clients
- Draft sections of building surveys, condition reports, and project documentation for senior review
- Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and other professionals as part of project teams
- Maintain accurate records and project data to support the wider Building Consultancy team's pipeline
- Work towards RICS APC requirements - logging structured training hours, building a competency diary, and meeting regularly with a designated counsellor
- Gradually take on more client-facing responsibility as competency and confidence build across rotations
Requirements
- Ambition and drive to excel, with a clear commitment to working towards RICS APC qualification
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, comfortable working with data, financial models, and market research
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Commercial curiosity - an interest in Central London's built environment and property market, and how local dynamics connect to the national and global picture
- Initiative and accountability - the confidence to take ownership of tasks while knowing when to ask for guidance
- Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, since much of the role involves collaborating across teams and with external stakeholders
- Submit an online application including CV and answer a few short screening questions
- Participate in an MS Teams interview with one interviewer
- Attend an In Person Interview with two assessors
- Complete an Assessment Centre – group task and individual interview
