About the Role
NESI is recruiting for an experienced People focused Leader who is passionate about people and has a proven history of leading a high-powered team. The role focuses on the day-to-day running of teams within the factory, emphasizing Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SPQDC).
Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees and agency workers operate in a safe environment.
- Develop and train a well-balanced, multiskilled team.
- Proactively drive team performance and develop the talent pool.
- Manufacture safe and legal food and maintain an environment that supports this.
- Proactively reduce non-conformity and drive process improvements.
- Demonstrate and lead by example while working collaboratively and cross-functionally.
- Achieve business KPI metrics focused on customer service and product quality.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Achieve business KPI metrics focused on yield/carcass utilization, labor, and line efficiencies.
- Attend and present in Tier 2 meetings, sharing key KPIs, escalating issues, contributing to resolutions, and reviewing performance.
- Create a clear handover for the following shift, highlighting areas of focus.
- Work cross-functionally with Technical, Hygiene, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth production and collective issue resolution.
- Ensure the factory is set up within the first 15 minutes of the shift to meet the production plan.
- Oversee all factory operations, including goods in, production, assembly, and dispatch.
- Promote and raise standards in Quality, Food Safety, and Health and Safety.
- Ensure the site is always Audit-Ready by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Manage labor planning and allocation, including booking agency workers, scheduling overtime, and managing absence and holidays.
- Lead a team in achieving weekly targets, correcting failures, and creating training plans for team member development.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage a team and work cross-functionally with key stakeholders.
- Strong People-Focus, with the ability to manage a team and foster a proactive and positive culture.
- 2+ years in leadership roles responsible for small teams.
- 2+ years in FMCG, preferably within the Food Industry.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Daily ambient/chilled supply experience is advantageous.
