About the Role
Apple’s Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) team mitigates monetary losses, ensures financial crimes regulatory compliance, optimizes business processes, and improves the customer journey. We leverage data science and machine learning to drive strategic impact across multiple business lines. This role involves understanding client processes, analyzing business needs, conducting investigations, performing system testing, and developing technical solutions using Python. The Data Scientist will collaborate with engineers, analyze complex business problems, participate in testing, and communicate insights to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Support discovery of business problems
- Analyze and interpret new sources of data
- Perform ad-hoc and reoccurring investigations and analyses
- Work with machine learning engineers, software engineers, and engineering program managers to generate business intelligence solutions
- Present results of analyses to business units
- Prepare documentation and analysis for integration testing, audits and exams
- Facilitate meetings, collect minutes, gather action items, and drive tasks to completion
- Complete annual end to end testing
- Participate in cross functional UAT testing
- Track and develop analytics
- Develop and implement technical solutions
- Create new metrics and analytics
- Make recommendations to improve quality and efficiency
- Assist in all stages of implementation (requirements test scripts, UAT, production release)
- Represent the Business Requirements in Design Reviews, Code Reviews and QA Reviews
- Create Quality Assurance Test scripts to validate Business Requirements and occasional Engineering Requirements
- Assist with Quality Assurance Testing, audits, and regulatory exams
- Work with business groups during UAT to address questions and solve issues
Requirements
- BS/MS in a technical field (math, statistics, engineering, computer science, analytics, or similar)
- 3-5 years of experience working as a QBA, Data Scientist, or related role
- Experience in investigations, testing, building metrics and reporting, and predictive analysis
- Competent with SQL and big data systems and tools
- Experience applying analytical techniques to provide solutions to real business problems
- Experience eliciting and building comprehensive business requirements and project plans
- Documenting features and developing functions for technical systems
- Validating Functional Specifications against Business Requirements
- Entity Relationship Diagram experience is a must
