About the Role
Allpoints Surveying is seeking a field-based Rodman/Instrument Man – Party Chief Opportunity in Austin, TX, responsible for surveying and investigating land surfaces to project precise measurements. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be comfortable working as a single crew member. This role offers a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy fieldwork, take pride in quality work, and are comfortable owning projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Collect field data utilizing GPS and a variety of surveying instruments.
- Produce field notes and sketches depicting accurate field conditions.
- Utilize a variety of technology to collaborate with other departments.
- Organize and prioritize tasks daily.
- Operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with all local laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Texas State Driver’s License required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience with surveying instruments and processing survey data.
- Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain.
- Ability to work in the field for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work independently as a single crew member.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
