About the Role
Assist Ambulance is seeking certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for full-time and part-time positions at our Bronx or Brooklyn locations. We are a New York City EMS agency with a 30-year history of providing BLS and ALS emergency medical and transportation services across the five boroughs.
Responsibilities
- Follow guidelines from the Department of Health - Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems.
- Adhere to Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of NYC protocols for Basic Life Support.
- Act responsibly under extreme duress.
- Attend three days of in-person pre-hire assessments.
- Complete driving assessments on a separate date (if eligible to drive).
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess an active NY State EMT-B card; NREMT card alone is not accepted.
- Must be at least 20 years old with 1 year of driving experience in New York City if hired as a driver.
- Must have a valid New York State D Class driver’s license with no more than 3 major moving violations in the past three years.
- DJ licenses and Driver's permits are not accepted.
- Must be physically fit to lift 125 lbs. in accordance with the NYS DOH and pass a lifting assessment.
- Must be able to obtain 19A physical clearance and a negative PPD test (vouchers provided).
- Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug screening.
- Must commit to at least two 8-hour shifts per week on the same days each week (steady shifts).
- Per diem is not available; only part-time or full-time steady scheduling is offered.
- Criminal history will be considered consistent with the requirements of the New York City Fair Chance Act.

Salary/Compensations
- $20.50 - $25.00 per hour
- $.50 cent raise after 90 days for drivers
- 5% standard annual raises for all EMTs
- $1/hr bonus after 90 days for full-time hours
