About the Role
Allied Universal is seeking a dedicated Armed Security Officer for a full-time position in Austin, TX. This role involves safeguarding clients in retail environments, conducting patrols, responding to security concerns, and providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to store employees, customers, and visitors by carrying out armed security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and applicable laws.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, receiving areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas, to help deter theft, trespassing, and other unwanted activity.
- Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Document incidents, patrols, and daily activities accurately; coordinate with store management, Allied Universal leadership, and law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed.
Requirements
- Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, corrections, military, or 5 or more years of armed security-related experience.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
