About the Role
Kick-start your engineering career with KBR and gain hands-on experience supporting complex Defence capabilities. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineering professionals and develop practical knowledge across key disciplines. This role offers a unique opportunity to build your technical capability, broaden your understanding of Defence sustainment and engineering assurance frameworks, and contribute to the support of critical products and systems.
Responsibilities
- Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment when conducting engineering activities.
- Assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
- Works within a multidisciplinary team to develop design solutions and requirements in the context of engineering change management and configuration management.
- Formulates solutions to problems by working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Learns skills in the use of Engineering applications and tools to enable delivery against engineering activities, including configuration tools, data analysis tools, modelling tools, and design tools.
- Works both within and to the requirements of the Navy Seaworthiness Framework and an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).
- Conducts work to the requirements of the Engineering Management Plan.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain a Baseline Defence security clearance or higher.
- Must be eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems.
- All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
- Compliance to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
