About the Role
Lead a global financial control function, shaping the future of finance through transformation, automation, and collaboration. This role supports a critical finance function within FTSE Russell, a business essential to global financial markets. You will combine strong governance with innovation to enable organizational scale, adaptation, and success in a complex environment. Partnering broadly, you will influence strategy, develop talent, and contribute to finance transformation initiatives for long-term value.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, ensuring strong financial stewardship.
- Oversee balance sheet governance, including reconciliations, substantiation, and resolution of complex accounting matters.
- Maintain effective control over subscription and asset-based revenue streams, managing billing, accruals, and deferred revenue.
- Take ownership of the financial control framework, continuously enhancing controls for a growing business.
- Oversee statutory account preparation, legal entity reporting, and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
- Prepare and present finance papers for legal entity boards.
- Lead financial control activities associated with systems implementations, finance transformation initiatives, and process changes.
- Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and simplify reporting and accounting processes.
- Create scalable solutions to improve efficiency, enhance controls, and support future business growth.
- Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed financial control team, fostering an inclusive and high-performing environment.
- Build positive relationships across FP&A, Finance Business Partners, Group Finance, Operations, Risk, Tax, and Treasury teams.
- Partner effectively with external auditors and other key partners to achieve shared goals.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Strong foundation in technical accounting, financial reporting, and financial control.
- Experience from a complex international organization.
- Track record of leading financial control, controllership, or product control activities.
- Maintained high standards of governance, compliance, and delivery.
- Experience overseeing statutory reporting, external audits, and legal entity governance.
- Proven ability to lead global teams and deliver results through organizational change.
- Experience gained through ERP implementations, finance transformation programs, or operational improvement initiatives.
- Strong judgment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent internal partner management skills.
- Confident building relationships across multiple functions.
- Ability to influence senior partners to achieve business objectives.
- Experience within financial services, market data, indices, benchmarks, or another regulated environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of subscription-based or asset-based revenue models is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Oracle Fusion is advantageous.
