About the Role
Join a private foundation as the second in-house engineer, working on a digital learning platform that serves millions of learners globally. You will contribute to migrating a legacy system to a modern Next.js and .NET stack on Azure, with significant opportunities to influence engineering practices and own features end-to-end. This role offers high leverage and the chance to ship impactful code reaching millions.
Responsibilities
- Write code from day one against defined feature work
- Own larger features end to end as V2 matures
- Contribute to migrating a legacy monolith to a modern Next.js and .NET stack on Azure
- Work alongside the Lead Software Engineer and an external technical consultant
Requirements
- Around 3–5 years' professional software engineering experience
- Strong mission-driven orientation and motivation to make an impact
- Comfortable across the stack - roughly 80% frontend, 20% backend
- A self-starter who can cut through ambiguity in a small team
- Comfortable being the second engineer in-house, working alongside a Lead Software Engineer and an external technical consultant
