About the Role

In this role, you will own key client relationships and craft strategic and tactical media recommendations. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to drive impactful results.

Responsibilities

  • Own key client list and lead day-to-day media communication, managing projects internally.
  • Develop strategic and tactical media recommendations, identifying optimal channels and tactics.
  • Manage a team, balancing delegation with project support.
  • Provide training to junior partners on media planning processes and tools.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams (client experience, activation, data & analytics, CRM, strategy, finance).
  • Build strategic media audiences using 3rd party tools to inform recommendations and understand audience behavior.
  • Utilize competitive intelligence tools to identify market opportunities and shape media strategy.
  • Ensure flawless management of client media budgets, including flowcharts, approvals, and authorizations.
  • Support client billing by reviewing invoices against anticipated spend with the Finance team.
  • Craft internal and external POVs on trending topics impacting the media landscape and client recommendations.
  • Participate in weekly status calls to update clients and relay information internally.
  • Provide strategic analysis of media performance for plan optimization and future strategy.
  • Stay current on media trends by reading industry trades and engaging with the Media Team.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of key media planning tools (Vivvix, PathmaticsKantar, MRI-Simmons, SRDS, SQAD, Nielsen NMI/IMS, Guideline PlanningMediaTools, etc.).
  • Lead strategic analyses for audience, geography, and media vendors to develop optimal media plans.
  • Identify needs for and prepare non-media projects such as competitive audits and audience profiles.
  • Maintain positive relationships with media vendor partners and stay updated on marketplace trends.
  • Collaborate with the Media Buying team to ensure flawless implementation of media recommendations.
  • Present at key client presentations and meetings.
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of the client's business, industry, and market conditions.
  • Bring energy and new ideas to motivate team members.
  • Monitor active campaigns and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Update team leadership on account status and elevate key issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 3-4 years of media planning experience required.
  • Ability to apply a strategic filter to solve client challenges.
  • Ability to think critically and apply a strategic approach to all plans or projects.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and business groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment and with outside media sales reps.
  • Strong organizational and mathematical skills, including basic media math.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver work on-time for set deadlines.
  • Must be prepared for a fast-paced environment and comfortable making decisions.
  • Experience with MRI-Simmons, Kantar, MediaTools, and other media software tools.
