About the Role
Lead the Credit Control function across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, providing senior leadership, structure, and consistency to the end-to-end credit control process. This hands-on leadership role involves developing the function, building and leading a high-performing team, owning the credit control strategy and operating model, and representing Credit Control internally and externally.
Responsibilities
- Lead and take end-to-end ownership of the Credit Control function across EMEA, defining strategy, governance, policies, and operating standards.
- Drive consistency and continuous improvement across the region.
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing Credit Control team, providing direction, coaching, performance management, and support.
- Drive the implementation and adoption of an IT-enabled credit control solution across EMEA.
- Ensure alignment with Group policies, process standardisation, and effective support for ongoing system and process changes.
- Act as the senior Credit Control representative, partnering with Finance Leadership, the Regional CFO, client services teams, and clients.
- Manage escalations, resolve complex issues, and embed strong credit control practices across the business.
- Improve cash collection performance, working capital, and Lock Up Days by delivering insight-led reporting.
- Manage debtor risk, resolve aged debt, and provide recommendations to enhance financial performance and control.
Requirements
- Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or collections.
- Proven track record of leading and developing teams across multiple countries, shared service environments, or onshore/offshore delivery models.
- Successfully led process, policy, systems, or transformation initiatives within a credit control function.
- Experience including the implementation of automated credit control or collections solutions.
- Confident and credible communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong client relationships.
- Ability to effectively manage complex or sensitive debt resolution matters.
- Strong commercial and analytical acumen.
- Experience improving working capital, managing aged and problematic debt.
- Experience operating within multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction global environments.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Advanced MS Office/Excel proficiency.
