About the Role
MongoDB has a great opportunity for a Senior HR Business Partner for our Technical Services organization. HRBPs at MongoDB are responsible for helping business unit leaders and their leadership teams develop and implement a people and culture strategy that best supports their business needs. They act as coaches, trusted advisors, change agents, consultants and thought partners on all things talent within the business. This Senior HRBP role is an opportunity for a strategic, commercially minded people leader to shape the talent and organizational agenda for a complex business. The role will partner closely with senior leaders to anticipate people needs, lead through change, translate data into clear recommendations, and build scalable solutions that enable the business to grow. Alongside this strategic partnership, the Senior HRBP will lead critical talent moments, including performance, engagement, succession, and compensation cycles, ensuring they drive meaningful business and people outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Builds relationships with leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution
- Adopts the culture of the organization and embodies our values and leadership principles
- Develops a commercial understanding of the business to appropriately guide and influence leaders on their talent agenda
- Applies expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, change management, performance management, career planning, coaching, analysis of people data, compensation (cash and equity), complex employee relations issues, learning and development, and recognition programs
- Uses qualitative and quantitative people and business insights to anticipate risks and opportunities, frame trade-offs, and make clear, actionable recommendations that drive business and talent outcomes
- Partners and drives results alongside other CoEs in the People Team (e.g. Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, Culture & Talent Development, Compensation) to help the People Team implement solutions that support and scale the business
- Leads the people cycles throughout the year to include compensation reviews, performance evaluations, engagement survey action planning, talent reviews and calibrations and promotion evaluations
- Balances strategic partnership with strong operational stewardship, ensuring core people processes and employee transactions are executed with rigor, while identifying opportunities to simplify, improve, and scale systems and ways of working
Requirements
- 10+ years of HR experience creating measurable impact on a major business unit, preferably in a high-growth technology company
- At least 5-7 years of experience as an HRBP, ideally supporting global technical GTM / Customer Support teams
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Senior Leadership (i.e. Vice President level)
- Demonstrated solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business
- Has an entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability, and flexibility
- Can solve challenges and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how complex, and design and quickly implement solutions that may cut across multiple disciplines
- Experience influencing decision making
- Self-motivated and assertive with the ability to hunt down answers and drive solutions autonomously
- Excited and passionate about making an impact and tackling challenges
- Equally comfortable partnering with employees and leadership and moving regularly between the tactical and strategic priorities
- Able to travel to relevant offices and leadership offsites on a recurring basis (ex: 1-2 times/quarter)
