About the Role

As a Receptionist / Duty Officer, you will ensure the delivery of a first-class customer experience to all visitors. You will coordinate bookings, build relationships with customers, and play a key role in developing the centre.

Responsibilities

  • Providing high quality customer service.
  • Ensuring customer records are accurately kept up to date manually and electronically.
  • Utilizing the management booking system for customer bookings, payment collection, and diary management.
  • Promoting the centre to increase income streams.
  • Supporting the Centre Manager with the day-to-day running of the centre.
  • Actively promoting the centre and its activities.
  • Supporting the fitness aspects of the gym and engaging with users.
  • Dealing with booking enquiries and accurately recording all financial transactions.
  • Maintaining gym and social memberships effectively and arranging inductions.
  • Assisting with the setup of activities for external users.
  • Assisting with catering requirements and layout for external hirers.
  • Understanding community needs and promoting relevant activity programmes.
  • Opening and closing the Centre following all procedures.
  • Supporting the Centre Manager with report collation.
  • Carrying out all meaningful tasks as requested by the Centre Manager.
  • Actively promoting the Trust in a positive and professional manner.
  • Maintaining an organized office environment.
  • Championing Watford Welcomes values and contributing to EDI activities.
  • Acting in a manner that avoids and discourages discrimination or harassment.
  • Complying with Watford FC CSE Trust Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults.
  • Ensuring Trust safeguarding policies, procedures, and practices are followed.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Duty Officer, Front Office representative, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to build and facilitate strong internal relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Good organizational, planning, and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Understanding of the Trust's commitment to EDI & Safeguarding.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
