About the Role
This role involves producing and coordinating BIM Models & Drawings for RIBA Stages 2-4 MEP Design, contributing to innovative and sustainable built environment solutions. You will work with a variety of digital engineering tools and software, manage models from setup to issue, and contribute to automation developments.
Responsibilities
- Produce and coordinate BIM Models & Drawings for RIBA Stages 2-4 MEP Design.
- Develop coordinated BIM Models & Drawings following Cundall’s Templates & Design Standards.
- Use a variety of other digital engineering tools and software to support the design & coordination processes.
- Manage Models from set up, View & Sheet creation through to final issue with incorporated asset data.
- Input COBie, IFC, Uniclass into Models as and when required per the Project BIM Execution Plan and Exchange Information Requirements.
- Review models produced by engineers, running clash detection and providing reports to engineers to aid coordination.
- Contribute to Automation Developments for Revit & BIM by submitting Ideas to the in-house Digital Team.
Requirements
- Background in Building Services with experience in Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health Disciplines.
- Strong practical experience of BIM and using Revit in a similar role within the industry.
- Experience working either at Consultancy’s and/or Specialist MEP Contractors.
- Understanding of how to utilise Autodesk Construction Cloud alongside Revit for model management and clash detection.
- Understanding of how to use Navisworks for Clash Detection for MEP Services against various other disciplines and trades.
- Ability to work to Cundall Standards and Templates.
- Ability to produce models and drawings independently and from mark-ups (Sketches and Bluebeam PDF’s).
- Ability to produce MEP Services Models & Drawings that are coordinated and fit within the constraints of the building layout on various projects.
- Understanding of the RIBA plan of works and BSRIA BG6 and the various stages included in these, as well as the Level of Detail needed for each stage.
- Appreciation of the key processes of ISO 19650.
- Adept at planning and organising workload alongside the BIM Manager.
- Effective communication with Engineers, Technicians and BIM Leads.
- Proven experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Share Cundall’s passion for creative, sustainable and intuitive design.
