About the Role

Corning's Optical Communications segment is seeking a motivated IT Working Student to support the IT team in documentation, data analytics, and project management. This role offers practical experience in digital transformation, AI, and IT operations for students pursuing degrees in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Informatics, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and improve IT process documentation, work instructions, and technical guides.
Support the development of knowledge bases, SharePoint sites, and project documentation repositories.
Ensure documentation is accurate, structured, and aligned with organizational standards.
Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and management summaries.
Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple IT systems and sources.
Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Excel.
Support KPI tracking and performance reporting.
Identify trends and provide insights to support business and IT decisions.
Assist with AI-related use cases, proof-of-concepts, and automation initiatives.
Support the evaluation and adoption of Generative AI tools and data-driven solutions.
Help prepare datasets and documentation for AI projects.
Research emerging AI technologies and industry best practices.
Assist project managers with project planning, tracking, and coordination.
Maintain action item lists, project schedules, and status reports.
Support meeting preparation, documentation, and follow-up activities.
Coordinate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics, Data Science, Engineering or related discipline.
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and business processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global environment.

Skills

AI/Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Azure AI, or similar technologies.
Data analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, Excel, or Tableau.
Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and project collaboration tools.
Project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
Automation technologies and data visualization concepts.
