About the Role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in cultivating James Avery's culture, enhancing customer experience, building brand awareness, and overseeing store operations. This role focuses on driving results and profitability through a customer and product-centric sales approach, while upholding company values.

Responsibilities

Cultivate a positive and uplifting work environment in partnership with the Retail Store Manager.
Assist the Store Manager with recruiting, hiring, and employee training and development.
Act as a brand ambassador, fostering community relationships to drive brand awareness and store traffic.
Support the Retail Store Manager with critical operations including inventory management, scheduling, payroll, BOPIS, Ship by Store, and supply budgets.
Lead by example, adhering to all company processes, procedures, policies, and standards, and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Serve as the sales leader, maintaining a strong floor presence to build customer relationships, support the team, and increase revenue.
Facilitate knowledge-sharing and training sessions as needed.
Ensure the store is maintained, clean, and organized to provide an excellent shopping experience and inspiring workplace.
Analyze sales reports and KPIs to identify business needs and execute sales strategies in partnership with the Store Manager.
Promote an inclusive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Model, teach, and promote GUEST principles and standards.
Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns.
Provide a fast and efficient register experience, staying current on policies related to payments, services, returns, and exchanges.
Resolve human resources issues in a timely and effective manner in partnership with the Store Manager.
Collaborate with team members to build positive working relationships and establish trust.
Assist in developing plans for special events and promotions.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail and organization.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in a related field and two years of retail experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service and developing customer relationships.
Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and provide performance feedback with a positive, empowering approach.
Proven ability to execute consistently and reprioritize in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude under pressure.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Strong ability to build cross-functional partnerships and work collaboratively.
