About the Role
LIQID is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale data infrastructure that powers decision-making. The role involves designing scalable data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and driving efficient data processing. You will develop robust data architectures, enhance data security, and implement best practices to empower data-driven decision-making at scale. This is a hands-on role focused on building future data infrastructure as LIQID scales beyond €4 billion in assets under management, offering autonomy and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and storage solutions for efficient, secure, and reliable data processing.
- Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows to integrate data from multiple sources.
- Implement and enforce data quality, validation, and monitoring processes.
- Ensure data security and compliance with best practices for sensitive information.
- Collaborate with analysts, product managers, and engineers to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve data infrastructure.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a similar data-related role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and database management (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
- Experience with modern data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles for data governance, security, and compliance.
- Experience using AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to speed up development and integrating them into standard workflows.
- Experience with data quality testing frameworks or rules-as-code approaches (e.g., dbt tests, Great Expectations).
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
