About the Role

CES is seeking a professional to attend and participate in ERCOT stakeholder meetings, writing succinct reports with analysis on important developments for clients. This role involves analyzing and evaluating emerging market design proposals, requiring strong communication and analytical skills for independent and collaborative work.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in ERCOT stakeholder meetings and write succinct reports with analysis on important presentations, announcements, discussions, and other developments within days of each meeting for internal and external clients.
• Tailor reporting and analysis according to clients’ commercial interests (e.g., generation, transmission, load, trading) and according to financial, policy, legal, and technical perspectives and considerations.
• Independently identify and define issues according to clients’ commercial interests.
• Recommend appropriate courses of action according to clients’ commercial interests.
• Provide real-time reporting and analysis on developments with immediate and significant commercial impacts on clients.
• Work closely with clients and stay familiar with their interests by addressing clients’ questions in a timely manner and conducting regular (monthly, quarterly) conference calls.
• Attract, engage, and support clients through reports and analysis as well as consulting projects related to existing and emerging market design(s) for ERCOT and other regions.

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years energy industry experience required
• Relevant college degree required
• Wholesale energy market knowledge/experience regarding resource and transmission planning, generation interconnection, resource adequacy, and market design required
• Strong writing skills required
• Strong analytical/quantitative skills and experience required
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively required
