About the Role
Participate in application development, operation, and maintenance projects for a leading securities company in Japan. The role covers modernizing existing systems, new development, and operation support for mission-critical financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, knowledge transfer, and provide first- and second-level support for application development and operation and maintenance projects.
- Modernize and improve code of existing applications.
- Develop new functions and extensions for existing systems.
- Develop new applications.
- Investigate faults and respond to incidents for mission-critical systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain databases.
- Utilize and provide operational support for tools and infrastructure such as Jenkins, Terraform, GitLab CI, and Linux scripting.
Requirements
- Experience in Java application development.
- Experience in development using front-end frameworks such as React and Angular.
- Experience in database development using MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), or Oracle.
- Advanced business level Japanese, with the ability to conduct meetings independently, presentations, and negotiations with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Fluent English, with the ability to communicate complex business issues accurately and smoothly both verbally and in writing.
- Practical experience with Linux scripting.
- Experience in building and operating CI/CD environments using Jenkins.
- Experience in infrastructure automation using Terraform.
- Experience using DevOps-related tools such as GitLab CI.
- Experience in developing and operating systems in the financial or securities industry.
